If raising capital is not an easy task in the U.S., where thousands of startups get funded every year, in Mexico the path to getting funded is often a true endurance test for any entrepreneur. (See some interesting stats about the current investment landscape in Mexico here.)
That’s why we’re thrilled about CROWDFUNDxMexicoCity — our first international CROWDFUNDx Contest + Pitch Event that is accelerating investment for top startups in Mexico. The contest was launched in partnership with Crowdfunder México (our subsidiary), Jóvenes COPARMEX, and Emproyecto México. It also received the support of Endeavor, 500 Startups, NAFIN and the Entrepreneur’s Institute.
With the support of some of the most active investor groups and entrepreneurial organizations in Mexico, it’s no surprise that in just 3 weeks over 80 startups joined the online contest for a chance to pitch in front of a select group of 50 active investors, and to compete for the Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize for CROWDFUNDxMexicoCity? Beyond the instant exposure to 50 of the most active investors in Mexico, the top 3 winners will also get the opportunity to fundraise and be featured to over 600 investors and funds on Crowdfunder’s network of accredited investors. In addition to access to funding opportunities, MITA Institute and Endeavor Tech Track are offering up seats at their accelerators for the top finalists.
To give you some background, companies participating in a CROWDFUNDx Contest are vetted by the crowd and investors in two ways — first in the online contest, and then at the live pitch event. This process helps us identify the most promising companies in our platform — making them ideal candidates for fundraising with our accredited investor network.
With that, we’d like to congratulate and introduce the 3 winners and the Finalists:
The 3 winners are:
